Minister V. Sampath Kumar Inspects Social Justice Hostel Construction

Thiru V. Sampath Kumar, the Honorable Minister for Backward Classes Welfare, Most Backward Classes Welfare, and De-notified Communities Welfare, conducted a comprehensive field inspection of the upcoming Social Justice Hostel and college premises in the district on 24.06.2026, Wednesday.

 

The high-level monitoring visit took place at 1:20 PM on 24.06.2026, Wednesday, accompanied by Tmt. Durgamoorthi, IAS, District Collector of Dindigul, alongside a delegation of senior government officials and department heads.

 

During the visit, Minister Sampath Kumar closely evaluated the ongoing construction progress of the Social Justice Hostel, reviewing the structural blueprints and taking stock of the basic amenities being set up for the students. He instructed the executing engineers and contractors to ensure that the infrastructure meets high-quality standards and is completed within the stipulated timeframe to benefit students from marginalized communities.

 

Following the hostel inspection, the Minister and the District Collector toured the main college(Government Arts and Science College, Thaneerpanthampatti, Vedasandur) premises, inspecting the classrooms, laboratories, and overall campus facilities. Collector Durgamoorthi highlighted the administrative steps being taken to streamline student welfare schemes and residential facilities across the district, reaffirming the administration’s focus on boosting educational accessibility.

 

District welfare officers, public works department (PWD) officials, and institutional heads were present during the inspection to provide progress updates and address on-site operational requirements.
